PROJECT 01 / Security engineering / Automation
A.Beam.
From a security signal to an informed response.
A locally operated security analysis project. I’m building inspection, detection, risk scoring, and response workflows to understand how defensive tools work from the inside out.
01 / THE QUESTION
Why I started.
Security tools bring together many moving parts: inspecting an input, deciding what it means, and choosing a response. I wanted to understand that process by building the pieces and connecting them in a local project.
02 / THE APPROACH
What I’m building.
A.Beam brings file, URL, email, and security event analysis into a modular Node.js architecture. Inspection and detection modules feed risk scoring and a decision engine, with services for quarantine, firewall response, and notifications.

03 / PROJECT COMPONENTS
The pieces in practice.
Input inspection
File, URL, and email inspection modules give different types of inputs a place in the analysis workflow.
Detection & scoring
YARA scanning and detection logic contribute to risk scoring and decisions about a potential response.
Response services
Quarantine, firewall, and notification services explore the connection between a detection and a local action.
Modular workflows
REST API endpoints and separate services help organize the analysis pipeline as the project develops.
SECURITY CONCEPTS
04 / REFLECTION
What I’m learning.
Building the individual modules is helping me understand how inspection, detection, and response depend on one another. It is also giving me practice translating security concepts into application logic and reasoning about the consequences of automated decisions.
05 / CURRENT STATUS
Still building. Still learning.
A.Beam is an active learning and development project operated locally. Its inspection, detection, scoring, and response components are still evolving. The architecture shown here describes the project’s approach; it is not a production SIEM, enterprise EDR, or commercial product.
